They Keep Me Humble

Christian and I went for a run last night (I know.  I couldn't believe it either.  And it was MY idea.)  We took Gumbo with us.

Christian said, "Poor dog. We are going so slow, he can't even go faster than than a quick walk."

(Yeah, don't worry about me.  My lungs are just about to fall out of my body.  Let's speed up so the dog will enjoy it more.)

At dinner last night, I was going over the plans for when I am out of town.
Christian said, "So I guess I won't be able to go to my lacrosse game on Saturday?"

Me: "Why not?"

Christian: "Well, it will just be so hard on Dad to get all three of us up and out the door to get me there on time."

(Are you KIDDING ME??!?!?!!  When have you ever worried about it being hard on Mom?)  And for the record, his game is at 10:30.

****
Me: "Jim, you know what I wish you would do this weekend while I am out of town?"

Jim: "My goal is to not burn the house down, and not kill one or more of your kids.  That's all I can commit to!"

Alrighty then!

Have I told you that I am going here? And here?  I know!  My kids are BESIDE THEMSELVES with envy!

Wow! Have fun! (And I know you will...)

That's funny that Christian thinks his dad can't do what you do.
