We stopped at the base of Clingman's Dome on the way up to Gatlinburg, but didn't have time to hike to the top.
But we promised ourselves we would stop on the way back and we did!
Clingman's Dome is the highest point on the Appalachian Trail.
It was a hike straight up, and then up a ramp to the observation tower at the peak.
At the top!
