Since it was raining Tuesday morning, we visited the Cherokee Heritage Center in Talequah.
This was one of my favorite parts of our trip!
The Cherokee played stickball, (i.e. lacrosse)
and we loved hearing about the native game!
We also watched arrowheads being made
and learned about different types of arrows
Inside the lodge were items used in different ceremonies, including turtle shell leg rattles
and baskets and capes.
After the tour, we asked if we could play stickball. It is a lot harder than our modern sticks!
But we got the hang of it.
