We went back to our roots this month and tried our hand at making jam and pickles. I had made jam once before but I was under the watchful eye of my mother...this was the first time solo! And the first time I have ever made pickles! Coleman and Carolyn helped mash the strawberries and bananas for our strawberry-banana jam and Jim even helped me get the hot syrup in the jars. And it was worth every minute of it! That jam is GOOD!
Carolyn helped me de-seed the cucumbers for the pickles and helped tighten the jar lids. The pickles are a recipe that my mom made when I was little. Christian LOVES them-the jury's still out for Coleman and Carolyn! All in all we made 7 pints of jam and 6 pints of pickles.

The jam was delicious... thanks! You need to have your own "Mom On The Go" brand of homemade goods, crafts, and advice for moms, all showcased in your own TV Show ... as in the "Yummy Mummy" show from the British. :-)
Where are my pickles?
