We finally started our summer TAKE OFF TUESDAY fieldtrips! Between being out of town and VBS this was our first outing. We went to the Cyclorama which is the largest oil painting in the world! It measures 42 feet high (the height of a four story house) and is 358 feet long. It depicts the Battle of Atlanta and has a really cool diorama in front of it, so you can't tell where the painting ends and the
diorama begins.
Also in the same building is the locomotive, Texas from the Great Locomotive Chase of the Civil War. Afterwards, we had lunch at the Bluebird Cafe and then went to the Georgia State Capitol and took a tour. Way fun! We all really enjoyed it and we even LEARNED something while we were there! (Shh, don't tell the kids it was educational!)
