ICE!

We went to Nashville to see the Opryland Hotel lit for Christmas.

I don't know if you've ever been to the Opryland Hotel, but the word hotel doesn't do it justice.
It is a nine acre resort enclosed in glass.  There is a quarter mile "river" that you can take a narrated flat boat ride along
and a huge conservatory under a glass dome complete with waterfalls.  The hotel is all decorated for Christmas with over a million lights.  While there, we went to the ICE! exhibit.

The theme this year was How the Grinch Stole Christmas, in honor of the book's 50th anniversary.

The temperature in the exhibit is 9 degrees, so before entering you are given a nice, warm parka.  (High fashion, folks!)

The exhibit was fabulous!  Everything is made of ice.  There were even two ice slides to slide down a' la the Grinch and Max.

We all had a ball, but boy, did the heated gift shop feel nice at the end!

It was a wonderful trip and a wonderful visit with Aunt Susan and Uncle Gary.  Needless to say, we were all tired!  Lucky for us, Dad drove the whole way home while the rest of us slept.
