My nephew Carson was diagnosed with nodular medulloblastoma (a brain tumor) a little over four years ago when he was only 9 months old. It was a horrible time. There were days when the phone would ring and we would almost be afraid to answer it just in case. After several surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation, LOOK AT HIM NOW.
The kid is playing t-ball. And doesn't he look good doing it! (You too, Uncle Chris!)
He fought a long, hard battle. It wasn't easy on him, or his twin brother, and especially not on his mom and dad. But LOOK AT HIM!
Carson was a patient at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. If you want to read his story, click here.
This Saturday, we are walking a half-marathon to raise money for St. Jude. It won't be fancy- there won't be water stations or T-shirts or goody bags at the finish line. Actually, there won't even be a finish line! There will just be a few (or more!) ladies walking and writing checks to St. Jude. If you are in the area, why don't you come walk with us? I promise you'll have a good time! If you would like to just donate and walk with us in spirit, send me an email and I'll tell you how to do it. If you would like to just walk and not donate-that's okay, too. It's just our way of saying "thanks."

How good he looks! My friend's 4 year old is going through his second round of chemo and just had his arm amputated, so hopefully he's seen the last of his cancer. It's heartbreaking to see kids so young have to go through all of that.
