On the Road Again

We took the circus on the road today!  We left Georgia this morning and made it through South Carolina.  This water tower is in Gaffney.
We hit a snag in North Carolina when I had a blowout.  After stopping at a truckstop and a Wal-mart and finally a tire store I am $123 poorer but the happy owner of a brand new tire.  While waiting at the tire store the kids found a gumball machine.  Joy!
The gumball was so big I don't know how Carolyn even got it in her mouth.  Luckily, she comes from a long line of big mouths, so it fit.
Good-bye North Carolina, hello Virginia! Ten minutes from our hotel we hit a monsoon.
But it slacked up enough to go eat at THE KIDS ABSOLUTE FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN THE WHOLE WORLD!
We haven't eaten at a Friendly's since we moved from Pennsylvania. The kids always wanted to eat there (because ice cream came with their meals) and Jim and I loathed it because they are SO SLOW.  Apparently, nothing has changed!
The kids were wired after being in the car all day, so I let them have a syrupy, sugary liquid cotton candy drink as big as their heads to, you know, calm them down.  Great idea!  More tomorrow-

Way to survive the blowout with no damage (except to the tire). May there be no more unexpected bad surprises on your trip!

As a kid I always loved the vanilla coke we could get ONLY at Friendly's. Ahh...the memories!

How fun does Friendly's look?! Hate blowouts but you got a new tire so that's a good thing. Looks like a great time!

I am glad you got there safely! A Blowout??? A monsoon??? I know you don't drink, but I would have needed a Friendly's with a bar, not an ice cream!

I mom, therefore I blog.
