2 Year Blogiversary

I missed doing this on my 100th post (I'm now at number 673) so I thought I would do a 100 Things About Me meme for my blog's 2nd birthday.  So here goes:

1. I like to stay busy.  It's not so much that I get bored easily, it's that I like to have a project going (even if it is just a book I'm reading.)
2. I LOVE to read.  But I struggle with reading quality over quantity.  I like for a book to suck me into it right from the beginning.
3. I have lived in Tennessee, Texas, Louisiana, Texas again, Louisiana again, Kansas, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.
4. I am a Southern girl at heart, but my favorite place that I've lived was Pennsylvania.
5. I am a Capricorn.  Not that I care anything about that, but supposedly Capricorns are stubborn and someone in my family thinks that is applicable.  Ahem.
6. I am left-handed.  I expected at least one of my children to be left-handed but none of them are.  Both boys however, are very ambidextrous when they play sports.
7. I met my husband on a blind-date at LSU.  Funny because my parents also met on a blind date.  Ask me sometime about our first date.  There is a punch line!
8. When I was sixteen, I was an exchange student to Switzerland for the summer.
9. I was a pre-med major in college.
10.  I didn't get into medical school, which rocked my world at the time (but in hindsight, oh what a blessing it was.)
11. I never planned to be a stay-at-home mom.  Actually, I'm not a stay-at-home mom... I am very much an on-the-go mom!
12.  I only worked for one company after graduating from college.  I worked there for seven years until we transferred with Jim's job and I had to give it up.  I was pregnant with Coleman at the time and we decided I would stay home for six months with him before going back to work.  That was 8 1/2 years ago.
13.  For at LEAST a year after I quit, when people asked me what I did, I would say that NOW I stay home with my kids but I USED to be a sales rep for a clinical laboratory.
14.  I still never exactly know how to answer that question without sounding defensive.
15.  I have one sister and my parents are still married.
16. Growing up I had my own horse and I was the first person ever to ride her.  My dad and I broke her together and he was so nervous the first time I got on her.  I was too stupid to even be nervous!
17. I have been to Switzerland, France, Germany and Canada, but never Mexico.
18.  I want to visit all 50 states.  I've currently been to 38 of them.  I need to head west!
19.  I am dying to see Mount Rushmore.  When we lived in Kansas we were only 9 hours away and talked about going (we didn't live there long enough!)  It seemed so far away then, but now that drive would be a piece of cake!
20.  I also want to see the Grand Canyon.  Someday!
21.  I hate mushrooms.  They are slimy.
22. I am allergic to shellfish.  I blow up like a blowfish if I touch one.  This was a bit of a hardship living in Louisiana!
23. I could eat pasta all day everyday.
24.  I love Elvis.  But I think you knew that.
25. I don't drink.  Jim's dad used to ask me "didn't I get thirsty?" : )  It's not a religious thing, I just don't see any reason to do it.  But it doesn't bother me at all if YOU do it.  Just be responsible.
26.  I have always had a dog.  I will always have a dog.  How do you live without a dog?
27. I don't drink coffee. I drink diet Coke.  Not regular Coke, or Diet Pepsi or Mountain Dew or Sprite.  If I can't have Diet Coke, I'd rather just drink water.
28.  I didn't really drink soft drinks at all until after Coleman was born.  I wish I'd never started.
29. I have three children and I had them all naturally; two with the addition of Pitocin.  It is much better WITHOUT Pitocin!
30. I don't really watch TV.  I think I could exist without having one in the house.  But then I would probably be divorced! I would much rather read a book.
31. I am very good at remembering people's names.
32. I am a rebel AND a rule-follower.
33. I have never tried smoking.
34. I really like to bake.  I make killer cookies.
35.  I really don't like to talk on the phone.  (Except with my sister while we are both in the car.)
36. I am an excellent shot.  When I was in college, I had the opportunity to go to the shooting range with the Army ROTC's and I kicked butt!  Of course, now I am half-blind, so this may not be true any more.
37. I have a scar through my left eyebrow that makes it lopsided.
38. My hands look just like my mom's and my grandmother's hands.
39. I am very patriotic.  I get teary when I hear the Star-Spangled Banner.
40. Especially when it is at a football game.  An LSU football game, to be precise.
41. I don't like "products." I don't put stuff in my hair or wear lotion or perfume.  I don't see the point.
42. Before I had Carolyn I had a really poor sense of smell.  Which really came in handy with two small boys.  For some reason, after that pregnancy, it came back.  I think it was better when I couldn't smell the nasty stuff.
43. I talk with my hands.  I'm not sure I could talk if my hands were tied behind my back!
44. I used to be a worrier, but now I'm not.
45. I am a Christian.  I think that should have been WAY higher on the list, but I am too lazy to renumber everything.
46. I love dark chocolate.
47. I really don't like cake.
48. I love steak!  That is what I want every year for my birthday dinner.  One year on my birthday, Jim stood outside in the snow grilling steaks and freezing and every year we laugh about it.  (I don't know why we didn't go out to eat... it seems like someone was sick.)
49. I don't journal, but I wish I did.  My blog is the closest I've ever come to keeping a journal.
50. My favorite color is green.
51.  I know how to do a lot of "old-fashioned" things, but not nearly enough of them.
52. I know how to sew and am pretty good at it.
53. I can change a flat tire and have had to many times!
54. I am named after my dad- we have the same middle name, Lynn, but mine only has one "n".
55. If I had been a boy, I was going to be named Jerry Lynn, Jr.
56. I don't understand why people don't want to tell how old they are.  I'm 37.  I'll be 38 in January.  That's a good thing!
57. My blood type is A+; I'm an overachiever. (It's harder to come up with 100 things about yourself than you would think!)
58. I am a morning person.  But not as much of a morning person as I used to be.
59. Incorrect grammar irritates me.
60. I had braces three times. Once as an adult.
61. I love red.  I have red in every room of my house.
62. I loved the Harry Potter books.  I was so sad reading the last one knowing that it was the end.  I'm not sure why all the controversy.
63. I drive a mini-van.  It's okay now, but it wasn't when I first got one.
64. I am a list maker.  Compulsively. I have lists for everything.  Some of them I even keep stored on my computer.
65. I am a planner, but I also do things spontaneously.  Especially if it is something fun.
66. I grew up in a small town and I loved it.  But I don't think I could go back and live there again.
67.  I can walk on stilts and could once ride a unicycle. (Tried the unicycle recently... no longer a skill I have!)
68. I like to take photographs.
69. I paint.  Only not as much as I used to.
70. I have six toes on my left foot.  Not really, but I wanted to see if you were asleep yet.
71. I am a total tourist.  If we are traveling through a town with the world's largest ball of string, I want to see it.
72. I believe kids should say yes ma'am and no, ma'am.  Even I say it to my elders.
73. I am not a fan of video games.  But I think Guitar Hero ROCKS.
74. I can beat everyone in my family except Christian.
75. I can remember when we got our first computer. (RadioShack TRS-80.)
76. I can remember when we got our first microwave.
77. I was salutatorian of my senior class.
78. I was on the Dean's list at LSU.
79. I met a friend over the Internet (plus two) and they came for a visit and stayed at my house.  How cool is THAT?
80. I can read really fast.  It usually only takes me a day or two to finish a book that I am enjoying.
81. My birthday is on Epiphany.  I saw that on the calendar my whole life, but I think I was an adult before I knew what Epiphany was.
82. I walked a half marathon in April (that I actually trained for) and I am walking the St. Jude Memphis half-marathon in December.  Unfortunately, I have NOT trained for it!
83. I love antiques.  I love old things and I especially love to know the story behind them.
84.  I am hopelessly sentimental about anything passed down from past generations of my family.
85. I can trace my Memo's family tree all the way back to Scotland and Wales in the early 1700's.  My great+ grandfather was a Colonel in the American Revolution.
86.  I have been to the top of the Empire State Building and the top of the St. Louis Arch multiple times. And to the top of the Eiffel Tower once.
87. I drove by myself with three kids 16 hours from Philly to St. Louis and lived to tell about it.  And was crazy enough to do it again.
88. I have waded or swam in the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Gulf of Mexico.
89. I have swam in the Mediterranean Ocean.  and it was FREEZING.
90.  I learned how to water ski when I was four years old.  Before I learned how to ski by myself, I stood on the front of my dad's skis.
91. I think snow sledding on a great hill is seriously one of the funnest things I've ever done.
92. I learned how to drive when I was 11 years old.  I drove the truck while my dad threw the hay bales from the pasture into the back of the truck.
93.  I learned how to drive a standard (Ford F-150 pick up truck!) before I got my driver's license.
94. I love to sit in front of a roaring fire.  A real fire.  Not one with gas logs.
95.  I have driven on the track at the Indianapolis Speedway.  In my mini van.
96. I grew up going to the rodeo every Friday night. And chased the goats. And ate Frito Chili Pies.
97. I love the mountains.  I love to go hiking with the kids (especially now that there is less chance of having to carry someone the last half-mile back to the car.)
98. When I was little, I spent the summer with my Memo every year.  She taught me how to sew and cook and garden.  Unfortunately, the gardening part didn't really stick.
99. I love Star Wars.  Which came in handy when my boys became obsessed with it.
100. I HATE doing the laundry.  I hate it so much that it should have counted for at least 5 items.

For any of you still reading, WOW.  Even I fell asleep around number 67.  1oo things is a LOT!  Happy Birthday, Blog!

Happy Blogiversary! We have a lot in common... Hey there, fellow lefty!

I've only been wading in the Pacific because it was SO COLD the four times (all during summer months) I've seen it. I grew up used to the warm waters of the Gulf.

Fun list; I admire the fact that you came up with 100 things. That's the reason why I didn't do this for my 100th.

Happy Birthday, blog! We have so many weird similarities. I was going to start listing them, but instead I'm going to steal your idea and do it for my 2 year blog anniversary :)

Loved the one about the 6th toe...

Thanks for sharing all about you! I am not sure I would even have 100 things to write.

Happy Birthday, Blog!

As I was reading your blog at 1:45 this morning, in bed. I opened my mouth and gasped at the 6th toe. Mr. KFuj asked "are you ok?" then quickly fell back to sleep.

I fell asleep in the middle of #98!

I am glad I am not the only one who cries at the Star Spangled Banner - for the 11 hockey seasons that I have been with Rick while he played I never could control crying when the Star Spangled Banner played in a dark arena and then lights came on and I was trying to put myself back together.

Great 100 things - good to know about these things about my neighbor and friend!!
