LAX to the MAX

Since lacrosse has been ALL-CONSUMING these last two weeks, I thought I would post a picture of Christian from his very first season of lacrosse.  This picture is from Spring of 2005.  Christian was eight.  He looks like a lacrosse player with that shaggy hair!
Funny story.  When Christian came home one day from school and told us he wanted to play lacrosse  I didn't even know what the game was... do you play with a stick? what?  His best friend, Grant was playing and his dad was the coach.  So we found out what we needed to get, purchased it and sent him out to the field.  Towards the end of the season, Christian came home from Grant's and said, "Coach Brad cut down his old stick and gave it to me."  I said that was nice, why did he do that?  And Christian said, "He said I've been playing with a girl's stick all year."  See that nice, LSU purple stick in the picture?  Yeah.  It's a girl's lacrosse stick, not a boy's.  Who knew?

Needless to say, Carolyn is probably the only 5 year old girl in Georgia that has her own lacrosse stick.

This picture is from a tournament that Christian's team went to the next year.  I love the eyeblack!
Coleman and Christian have their first games tomorrow.  (At 8:30 in the morning and 4:30 in the afternoon, I might add.)  Everyone is very excited around here!
