Have a (Diet) Coke and a Smile!

This week is Teacher Appreciation at school.  Tuesday was "bring your teacher's favorite drink".  I made these fun coozies in the teachers' favorite colors to go with them:
How To:
Measure your coozie and cut a strip of cloth to size, adding 1/2"seam allowance on each side.  (Mine was 5 inches by 10 inches.) If possible, match fabric color to coozie color, because the coozie will show at the top and bottom.

Turn under and stitch the two long sides (top and bottom) with a 1/2 inch seam allowance.  (I didn't even turn under the raw edge, so that it would be less bulky and lie flatter.)

Embellish!  I monogrammed these on my embroidery machine... but how cute would a child's artwork in permanent marker look for Mom, or even an iron-on patch?  Find the center point by folding the strip of fabric in half.  By placing your embellishment at the centerpoint, it will be opposite of your seam.

With right sides together, sew short sides.  You want your cover to be snug, but not so tight that it wrinkles.  If it is too tight, it will be difficult to insert a can into the coozie.

Trim seam and turn right side out.  Fold coozie in half and slip into sleeve and smooth.

Insert favorite beverage.  Enjoy!

if I were a teacher, I would fight to have your kids in my class for the following reason:

1) they are so cute
2) their mom is awesome!
