On This Day in History...

On this day in 1886, the very first Coca-Cola was served at Jacob's Pharmacy in Atlanta.  Coincidentally, today is one of the days I signed up for Fun Friday in Coleman's 2nd grade class!

So of course, we had cokes and Coca-Cola cupcakes!  I made the mistake of telling the class that before Coke was COKE, it had wine in it.  (How many emails from parents do you think I will get this weekend telling me that their child said I gave them alcohol?)  Thank goodness I didn't tell them that when it was first served it had COCAINE in it!!

Aren't these cupcakes AWESOME?
I forgot my camera, so I didn't get any pictures of mine.
But they TOTALLY looked like this.

(OK, so I stole the picture from Bakerella. Mine looked like plain ol' cupcakes.)

They did taste good, though.  Kind of a chocolate-y caramel flavor.

Braun, did we not just converse the other day about how in the Bible Belt you are not allowed to acknowledge that alcohol exists :)
