Red, White and BOOM

Day 2-Independence Day!

We started in McKinney at the Red, White and BOOM parade.

It.was.hot.

There was a great little festival with a car show, face painting and a magic show, but we were there for more important things:

The Homemade Ice Cream Contest!
A wristband got you a taste of every contestant's entry: watermelon, banana-marshmallow vanilla, pomegranate and many more.  It's a good thing the lines were long or we would have waddled out.

Did I mention that it was HOT?

104 degrees.
Luckily, there was a misting fan.

Gratuitous cuteness pictures:
We went to watch fireworks that night.  Glow bracelets for everyone!
Coleman added his usual special "flare."

It was a long hot, FUN day.
