A friend from Arkansas brought his family down for a visit at Mardi Gras. (Dad of the cute little boy in the background!) We went to the French Quarter and to a parade. But what he REALLY wanted to do was go on a swamp tour. We'd never been on one before (Because, why? Everywhere you look in south Louisiana is a swamp!) but it was fantastic. We saw tons of alligators and snakes and lots of herons and other birds. About three quarters through the trip the pilot pulled a baby alligator out of his shirt. Kind of like pulling a rabbit out of his hat!

could he be any cuter?! None of my kids would have even thought about touching an alligator at that age!
