We hosted our first visitors to the cabin this weekend; our friends, the McCrearys came up to stay with us!
We had a late start on Saturday due to a lacrosse game on our part and baseball/softball practices on their schedule. But we managed to cram a lot of fun into 28 hours!
The kids played in the creek
and we roasted hotdogs for dinner followed by s'mores.
First s'more I've had in ages and it DID NOT disappoint!
(I think the girls enjoyed them, too!)
The kids played a ton of pool and lots of poker. Next weekend we are going to teach them how to play quarters... just getting them ready for college! (I kid, of course!)
Today we went in to Blue Ridge and shopped a little and had some wonderful barbecue.
While Heather and I shopped, the guys took the kids to the playground right in the middle of town and they ran around to their hearts' content. Then back to the cabin for some more time in the creek.
We had such a wonderful weekend! None of us wanted to leave today. The plan was to get on the road no later than 3:30, so of course we were in the car at a quarter of five. Carolyn was asleep less than five minutes into the drive. Early to bed tonight because none of us are back into the school schedule yet!

I wish you could have heard my baby's prayers tonight! We are ALL so thankful for friends like you to share those 28 hours with! And Griffin was grateful that God had "given" the Braun's a cabin! I know exactly what he meant, but it was funny the way he said it! And i do thank God for you as our friends! You are a special bunch!
