So, while reading the newspaper in Blue Ridge this weekend, I came upon the following article:
All three of the dogs that have been a part of our family (Sam, Belle and Gumbo) were adopted from the pound or the Humane Society.
This part of the article struck me as funny; it says that the Humane Society of Blue Ridge drives dogs and cats to New Jersey every month for adoption and
"...that the reason people from New Jersey want dogs from the South is that the spay/neuter laws in New Jersey are so strong that there are few strays and they believe Southern dogs are more 'laid-back'."
Hmmm. Whatever it takes to find people to adopt these animals!
