Secrets

So one of the most interesting things about my house is that it has a secret room. Isn't that weird? I mean, you expect that older houses have hidden rooms or closets. But our house is new. When I was a little girl I always wanted to live in an old house that had a bookcase that concealed a hidden tunnel. (I know, too many Nancy Drew mysteries!)

Believe it or not, the secret room in our house is hidden so well that no one else has found it. I am the only one who knows of its existence.

If you look very closely, you can barely see the outline of the hidden door.
It conceals a dungeon of horrors and the sisyphean task of laundry for a family of five.
And I am headed back in.

Absolutely Hilarious! And yes, we have a hidden room too! Every now and then when Jeff runs out of clean clothes and i'm out of commission, he is able to find the hidden door. But i repeat, that is only now and then!
And - I love that you have CAULK on top of your washer. Is that how you keep the door sealed and keep the water from leaking out when it's stuffed so full?

Is that in our house? I have never seen that room. Do the kids know about it?

My family just assumes those are over-sized noisemakers that continuously emit strange noises to fill in the 2.4 seconds of silence between squeals/laughter/crying/shrieks

Too funny! In my house the boys are still at the age where they like to "help" me with the laundry. I know this stage is coming to an end (once I make them actually do something like FOLD - the horror!)
