Homemade Fire Starters

While at the cabin with Wes and the boys, we made homemade fire starters for Father's Day.
To make:  fill cardboard egg cartons with dryer lint (I've been saving it for a couple of months!) and then pour melted wax over the top.  We used broken crayon bits and melted them in an old mug in the microwave.  Put the cartons in the freezer for a few minutes to harden the wax and then cut the cartons apart.
We packaged a half dozen in a gift bag and tied with twine.  Jim and Grandy both loved them!
The kids can't wait to get back to the cabin and see if they work!

Total cost:  $0.

That's a pretty great "reuse/recycle" idea!

I mom, therefore I blog.
