I celebrated Fourth of July this year Atlanta style by running the Peachtree Road Race! It is the largest 10K in the world (yes, 10K-that's 6.2 miles!) My friend Troye and I got up at 5:15 and rode Marta down to run the course with 55,000 of our closest friends! We finished with a respectable time of 1:24. My new motto (but philosophy from the beginning) is COMPLETE NOT COMPETE! I finished and more importantly, am still capable of walking today. AND I have one of the coveted Tshirts!
(It's just not meant to be that I get a race photo!)
After a nap, we went over to Laura and Dave's with some of our neighbors for an old-fashioned Fourth-cookout on the grill,
kids on bikes, and fireworks after dark.
Happy Birthday, America!
