The Nutcracker

We went to see the Nutcracker on Saturday with my cousin, JamieLynn. I took the boys several years ago in St. Louis to see it and Coleman LOVED it so much, we bought him the book on tape and he listened to it until it wouldn't play anymore. Needless to say, he was very excited about going again. We had great seats in the front row of the balcony and the set was fantastic! About 20 minutes into the first act, Coleman leans across and "whispers" to me, "I don't like this as much as I used to!" So he and Christian switched places so he could sit next to me. I explained to him what was happening and then he enjoyed it more! He also said, "This would be better if they talked!" Carolyn loved watching the ballerinas. She kept asking all through the first act when the Nutcracker was going to come out.
In the car, I saw in the program that the same company is presenting Sleeping Beauty in the spring. I told Carolyn that maybe we would go and leave the boys at home. And all three of them shouted "Yeah, leave us at home! We'll go do guy stuff!" And Coleman said, "Like a hockey game!" Hmmmm. Maybe they didn't enjoy it as much as I thought!
