Apple Picking

Our favorite apple orchard is still having u-pick weekends, so after eating breakfast at Mercier's Sunday morning, we went back late Sunday afternoon to pick apples!  Last year, Carolyn saw the pink lady apples and really wanted some but they weren't ready.  Later in the season when we returned, they were already done. She was so sad we missed them!  But thanks to Facebook, I knew that they were ready this weekend!

We were lucky enough to get to pick in the old orchard this time, which has one of the best views in Blue Ridge.  The peak in the distance far left is Tennessee, the closer peak on the left is Georgia and the peak in the far distance on the right is North Carolina.

She finally got her pink ladies!
And of course, picking involves sampling!
And another batch of apple butter to show for our efforts.
