Celebrate America's Most Common Birthday, October 5
Know somebody celebrating a birthday today? (Go ahead, check your Facebook wall. We'll wait.) Rumor has it that today, October 5, is the most common birthday in America.
For those of you with our math skills and no abacus handy, that means more babies are conceived on (or around) New Year's Eve than any other date. The average number ofbabies born on October 5, according to anybirthday.com, is 12,576 each year. Poor old May 22 is least common, with an average of just 10,259 births yearly.
Is this data based on cold, hard facts? We aren't entirely sure, but as long as there's birthday cake, we don't really care. There is cake, right?
And if you're celebrating today, then happy birthday!
