The final tally is in: Hoschton made and displayed 5441 scarecrows-well over the number needed to beat the current World Record. Our scarecrows are numbers 0495, 0496 and 0497. When the official came to tag and photograph them, Carolyn said, "Mommy, we are part of the record now!"
A book with the number, location and photograph of each scarecrow has been submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records headquarters in London. The town will find out later this year or early next year if it officially broke the previous world record held by the Cincinnati Horticultural Society in Cincinnati, OH.
But in the meantime, this weekend is the Hoschton Scarecrow Stampede. So if you are in the Georgia area, come see us! There will be lots of fun things to do... and LOTS of scarecrows on display!

That is awesome. I about fell out of my chair laughing at the scarecrow in the hunting stand!
