Da Vinci was Da Bomb

Well, we finally made it down to the High Museum of Art to see the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit. The highlight of the exhibit was the 26 foot tall bronze horse made from da Vinci's plans.
We walked around the 19th century American art exhibit while waiting for our timed tickets to da Vinci. Carolyn liked this portrait of a girl with a bow. Hmm, wonder why?
Christian and Coleman were quite certain this painting was of two brothers. Hmm, wonder why?
Coincidentally, it was by one of my favorite painters, N.C. Wyeth.

Of course, there were no photographs allowed in the da Vinci exhibit, but there is a great video here. Afterwards, we stopped off in the Children's Area and made some art of our own.
And some sculpture.
Higher...
and higher...
and higher!
The key to taking kids to an art museum is doing it in small doses. And it's worth it to spring for the audio tour. The artifacts in the special exhibit have a number corresponding to both an adult and a kid's version of the audio. (Truthfully I listen to the kid's version most of the time myself!) The kids really enjoy the High and it is so much fun to watch them learn!
