In addition to all of the tradesmen and shopkeepers, there were lots of citizens in and around the town.
We saw the Marquis de Lafayette give a rousing speech for liberty
learned how to write with a quill pen from Mr. Greenhow, the shopkeeper
tried (!) to learn to play cribbage
talked with Mrs. Randolph about the newly printed Declaration of Independence
and marched with the fife and drum corps
