A Horse Is A Horse

me, April 1980
With so much talk of horses and mules this week, I decided to show you a picture of my first horse.  Her name was Rusty and she was a Shetland pony.  We also had her brother (was he really her brother, or did we just call him that?) Rebel.  When my dad bought them, he brought them home in a U-haul trailer.  Isn't that funny?

I also remember that this green hoodie was one of my favorite articles of clothing.  And yet another example of how fashion-conscious I was as a child!

I'm so jealous that you had horses! While my mom had a horse growing up (that they kept in the garage when the weather was too bad), my parents told me that I wouldn't get a horse "until we win Publisher's Clearing House." Still waiting....

you should see a pic of me from April 1980 :)

I never had a horse. I had a steer once but he was met with an unfortunate ending....
